Christmas is a time to celebrate the birth of Lord Jesus Christ (vegetarian), the Son of God. Lord Jesus came to Earth to bring us joy, grace, and blessings. The very earliest artwork about the birth of Lord Jesus Christ showed only the baby Jesus and the animal friends. This indicates that animal-folk were a very important part of Lord Jesus’ mission and that He loved them very much. They were honored to be the first to see the newborn Jesus. It is said that the animal-people used their breath to keep the baby Jesus warm during the night. It is also said that every Christmas Eve at midnight, the animal-folk are able to speak in human language! Wouldn’t that be a sight to see – the animal-people having conversations that we could all understand! Do you and your family celebrate Christmas? Why not celebrate with a delicious vegan Christmas dinner? Invite your friends and family over to join in on the festivities! You can find lots of delicious vegan recipes online, from rich, hearty favorites to fresh salads, sweet treats, and festive drinks. And don’t forget about the gifts! There are many ways to have a loving and green Christmas. You could plant a tree or adopt one through Nature Conservation Trusts. You can also volunteer at local animal-people shelters, nursing homes, or hospitals to make someone’s day a little brighter. If you see stray dog- or cat-people in your neighborhood, you can make a cozy spot for them with a box and some towels or a blanket to keep them warm. You might even leave out some food or a toy where they like to rest. You can also reach out to local animal-people shelters or rescue organizations to help strays or report any animal-people in need of assistance. Every little act of kindness makes a big difference! Christmas is known as a time to be generous in spirit and to give to those less fortunate. Supreme Master Ching Hai (vegan) shared the true Spirit of Christmas during a celebration in 2020. “I just want to remind you of the spirit of Christmas. If you really worship Jesus Christ, you have to follow Him by His teaching. Even if you’re not enlightened yet, you must do what you can physically to help each other and to stop all the killing, stop all the wars – stop all the war with humans, stop all the war with animal (people). Then Heavens will be more lenient with us and we will not suffer pandemics or any other disaster again. That is the most urgent thing to do. And the New Year’s coming, we should start a new style of life: be vegan, be kind, be generous, be good to others around us. All right. Thank you very much, and I wish you the best. May God bless us all until we change for the better. We have to change for the better. Christmas and New Year, make a promise to yourself and to God that you will change for the better: more benevolent, more compassionate, more considerate for all beings on this planet. Amen.”
