In today’s news, Japan assists Ethiopia’s pandemic response, study finds reduced air pollutants from power plants improves United States’ children's health, green energy production soars in Germany, Indian start-up creates eco-friendly plates from plant leaves, Nigerian family in United Arab Emirates has quadruplets’ birthing bills paid by Crown Prince of Dubai, fast-food chain in Canada adds vegan menu item after successful trial, and factory farm documentary wins film festival award in United Kingdom.

Japan sends COVID-19 relief aid to Ethiopia.

The Japanese government is providing a US$13.6 million grant for pandemic relief efforts in Ethiopia, specifically for the purchase of health and medical equipment. Portable ultrasound scanners, radiography systems and other needed devices will be procured for hospitals and medical universities in the capital of Addis Ababa, the eastern city of Dire Dawa, and 10 additional regions. Speaking of the donation, the Japanese Ambassador to Ethiopia, His Excellency Daisuke Matsunaga said, “[A]s a friend of this great country, it is a pleasure to be able to contribute to the health and well-being of the Ethiopian people.” Japan is a Shining World Leadership Awards for Compassion, Animal Protection and Generosity laureate. Our heartfelt appreciation, Japan, for your kind contribution. May the beautiful souls of Ethiopia stay safe and strong as all people care for one another, in Heaven’s eternal light.

Decreased air pollutants bring US children major health improvements.

In a recent study by the US-based Columbia Center for Children’s Environmental Health, Dr. Frederica Perera and colleagues found a regional emissions cap-and-trade plan for power plants has prevented childhood diseases. Implemented in 2009 by nine Northeastern US states, the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI) seeks to lessen mercury, sulfur dioxide and greenhouse gas releases by power generators. The research shows a dramatic reduction in asthma, autism, preterm births, and low birth weight cases among children due to the initiative, thus saving up to US$350 million. Additionally, a 2017 study revealed the program has brought up to US$8.3 billion worth of health benefits to all ages. Great work, Dr. Frederica Perera and team, and thank you, the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative, for protecting our precious atmosphere. May all young ones flourish in a world of clean air, surrounded by love, in God’s omniscience.

Up next, green energy production soars in Germany. Let’s give thanks to the columnists, who write constructive opinion pieces for newspapers and magazines on important topics such as climate change. We will return with more comforting news after these messages, here on Supreme Master Television.

Respectful viewers, I am Larry the vegan Lionfish. Since I became vegan, people are kinder to me. Give it a try, and see for yourself how peaceful life will become. Today, I have a handy car cleaning tip for you. Before washing your vehicle, you should first rinse it using clear water to remove all the dirt and dust. If you don’t take this simple but important step, and instead immediately start washing with soapy water, then you may damage the paint finish as you will grind the collected dust and road dirt against it. Love you so much for Being Veg and Going Green 2 Save the Planet thus save the world! And thank you for tuning in. Now the weather around the globe.

Germany’s clean energy generation shows unprecedented gains.

In the first half of 2020, Germany’s total power supply mix was almost 56% renewables, a new record. Solar and wind sources added a total of 102.9 terawatt-hours to the country’s public electricity grid, an increase of 11.5% from the same period in 2019. The ascent of sustainable energy has been boosted by its continuously expanding capacity, power networks that give it priority dispatch, and favorable weather conditions, including high winds and lots of sunshine. Germany seeks to achieve a power mix with 65% coming from sustainable sources by 2030, and is currently on track to completely abandon nuclear energy and coal. Germany is a Shining World Leadership Award for Compassion and Shining World Caring Leadership Award laureate. Hats off, Germany! In Divine love, may your progress towards clean power bring inspiration for all countries to follow.

Indian start-up makes plates from local trees’ leaves.

Vistaraku, founded in 2019 by Madhavi and Venu Vippulancha in Telangana, India, is creating biodegradable plates and bowls from the leaves of a local tree species called the palash. After gathering them from the couple’s 10-hectare farm, five to six young women stitch the leaves together with food-grade cotton thread and starch-based glue, before heat-pressing them with cardboard into the desired shapes. The leaves are naturally antiseptic and antibacterial. Orders for the eco-plates are already being shipped to large Indian cities, the United States, and Germany. Such an amazing idea, Madhavi and Venu Vippulancha, to construct attractive, decomposable, and natural plates and bowls made from the palash tree. May your green business encourage others to use local, nature-based materials for creating beautiful and useful products, while protecting the environment, in Celestial brilliance.

Dubai Crown Prince covers Nigerian mother of quadruplets’ birthing expenses.

His Royal Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum recently paid the medical costs of Suliyat Abdulkareem who prematurely gave birth to quadruplets in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, but had insufficient means to pay. The bill came to about US$108,000, of which the local Nigerian community and Dubai citizens donated US$11,500. Learning of the situation from a CNN report, His Royal Highness pledged to pay the remaining amount. In gratitude, Mrs. Abdulkareem and her husband Tijani Abdulkareem named their two sons after His Royal Highness, and one of the daughters after the hospital. Congratulations, Suliyat and Tijani Abdulkareem, on your four bundles of joy. Your Royal Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Nigerian community and Dubai citizens, thank you for your kind assistance and generosity. May the babies grow into strong and good-hearted persons, in Allah’s grace.

Coming up, fast-food chain in Canada adds vegan menu item after successful trial. Let’s pause to be thankful for the colorful fruits and vegetables that are full of light, nutrients, and wonderful flavors. Supreme Master Television will return with more valuable news in just a moment. Welcome back to Noteworthy News - Friendly News for an Amicable World.

KFC Canada introduces vegan chicken sandwich nationwide.

After a highly successful test of the product last year, fast-food outlet KFC Canada has added the Plant-Based Chicken Sandwich to its menu in all locations throughout Canada. During the trial in November 2019, at a Mississauga restaurant in Ontario, the chain sold a month’s worth of vegan chicken sandwiches in just six hours. The sandwich’s patty is made by Lightlife Foods, and all vegan options, including the Plant-Based Popcorn Chicken Bucket that will be made available for a limited time, are cooked in a separate fryer to avoid cross-contamination with animal-based products. Such gladdening news, KFC Canada, on your new, permanent vegan menu option. In Divine splendor, may your delicious, animal-free sandwich soon become your most popular item, as the world’s vegan conversion continues.

Factory farm documentary wins film festival award.

“Hogwood: A Modern Horror Story,” by vegan director Tony Wardle, recently won the British Documentary Film Festival’s Wild Animal Award. Narrated by vegan actor and “Game of Thrones” star Jerome Flynn, the work shows deeply shocking and saddening undercover footage from some of the largest factory farms in the United Kingdom. Furthermore, the film reveals how animal livestock raising sites will cause future pandemics due to their extremely filthy conditions. Mr. Wardle stated, “The problems of animal farming [are] so profound that ending [them] has to take priority over all else.” Congratulations, Tony Wardle, Jerome Flynn, and all involved, on your much- deserved win. We are grateful for your help to highlight humanity’s most urgent task: ending the animal slaughter industry. In Heaven’s radiance, may your documentary awaken compassion in all who see it, and inspire urgent action for a loving, vegan future.

Get ready for some instant laughter with the joke of the day entitled “A Giraffe Story.”

Hey, do you want to hear a funny story about a giraffe’s neck?

That depends. How long is it?

?

And now we have a heartline from Noah in Canada:

Dear Beloved Master, Thank You for Your unconditional love and sacrifices for so many decades. I would like to share a wonderful inner experience from a non-initiate after meditating for a vegan world. Following Your urgent call, I contacted my non-initiate friends and asked them to meditate and pray together with us on February 9, 2020. After the event, a friend of mine shared her inner experience. She saw numerous people around the world meditating together. There was strong light pouring into her from above, and her body filled with glowing golden light for the first time in her life. She also saw a Buddha’s Land, surrounded by a beautiful sparkling river. In that pure Land, a Mighty Buddha walked from a grand lotus and poured down holy nectar water. Suddenly, the river water level rose up so high and then rained down to the earth clearly to wash every corner. The next day, I saw news of sudden heavy rains in Australia (the heaviest in the past three decades). The rains were so precious because it helped to extinguish all the remaining bushfires that the country has been battling with since September 2019. To my surprise, this is also a vision that my friend saw during the meditation for a vegan world and she had emotions of amazement and happiness due to such news. Dear Beloved Master, once again, we thank You for Your endless noble efforts in taking care of all us, including our loving animal friends and countless generations in the future. We wish You health, peace, happiness, and hope that the world will very soon become vegan! Your humble disciple, Noah in Canada

Insightful Noah, Thank you for sharing this wonderful vision that your friend experienced. We shed joyful tears thanking our Beloved Supreme Master Ching Hai for the tremendous blessings pouring down from Heaven to grace our planet. May more and more people join hands in meditating and praying for a Vegan and Peaceful world.

Supreme Master Ching Hai has a reply for you: “Noble Noah, it is a most urgent time for our planet, and there are great Beings helping us invisibly, so please be sure to thank Them all the time. Please do what you can to bring about a better world for all, including praying for World Vegan. May you and the lovely people of Canada be continuously uplifted, in Heaven’s infinite Wisdom. Love Love.”
